CUTTING contains 60 screens describing cutting, its history, herd and cow work (with videos); the NCHA point system, scoring, and rules (with videos); loping etiquette and rider apparel; NCHA classes, awards, over 50 years of champions, and horse and rider members of the NCHA Hall of Fame. A print function allows a convenient way to obtain copies of the rules and quick-tip techniques and take them to cutting events.
CATTLE contains information on cattle breeds used for cutting, their colors, and markings. It includes descriptions and photos of 36 breeds of cattle used for event and practice cutting as well as a brief description of their disposition for cutting. Music and audio descriptions reflect the country of origin of each breed.
HORSES contains over 40 screens of the primary horse breeds used in cutting, as well as pattern markings, form (conformation), and gaits. The Breeds screens include a brief history, description, features, and photos of American Quarter Horses, Paints, Arabians, and Appaloosas, as well as photos and videos of cutting horses of each breed. The Markings screens include descriptions and pictures of facial and leg markings. The Form screens include an illustration and names of the parts of the horse as well as a color-coded explanation of conformation. The Gaits screen describes the main gaits of the Western riding horse and includes audios of the gaits.
LEGENDS contains over 90 screens of many horses, riders and breeders (including ranches) who have made a significant impact on cutting horses and the cutting industry. The legendary Horses screens include biographic sketches, 4 generation pedigrees of each horse, halter and cutting photos, as well as major awards listings of 38 horses. Video clips of several horses are available to view. The legendary Riders screens contain biographic sketches, photos, major awards listings, and audio descriptions of 32 riders. Cutting video clips are available for most of the riders. The legendary Breeders screens include photos and biographic sketches of breeders as well as photos of ranches and horses bred or trained on these ranches.
TACK contains 38 screens containing information on tack used for cutting and the effects it can have on cutting efficiency. It includes descriptions of: bits, hackamores, headstalls, reins, (equine) boots, saddles, blankets (and pads), cinches, stirrups, and spurs. Also included are descriptions of tack characteristics, materials, and style.
SOURCES contains 55 screens on Associations, cutting Magazines, Videos, Books and Web Sites. The Associations screens contain descriptions and contact information of 14 associations that sponsor cutting events or register cutting horses. The Magazines screens contain cover photos, contact information and a brief description. The Videos screens contain product photos and descriptions of 18 cutting videos with several video clips. The Books screens contain cover photos and descriptions of books on cutting or cutting horses.
